Sophie & Leigh’s Kate Spade Inspired Wedding – Newcastle

AS FEATURED ON POLKA DOT BRIDE!

Aw, these kids. Initially clients way back in 2012, I styled their engagement in Melbourne along the river’s edge. I was struck by their lovely nature and generosity towards each other and their friends and family. So when they asked me to style their wedding in the beautiful Newcastle at Merewether Surfhouse, I was delighted!

Sophie LOVES anything and everything Kate Spade, so this theme set the scene for the day, with pops of hot pink between the striking black and white stripes and polka dots. With some gold bling thrown in for good measure of course! (her SHOES!!)

We sourced napkins from the only vendor in Australia that had them, and these were driven up from Melbourne to Newcastle, and were a hit with the venue and the guests! Fashioned in beautiful bows, they were finished with pink ribbon, and set on gold charger plates sitting on striped place mats made specially for the day.

Gold candles, fabulous flowers by Lovely Rita Designs clustered in vintage crystal vases hired from the lovely Leanne at This Old Love, stunning signage and a cake that wowed from Sweet Perfection Cakes added to the whole look and feel of the day. We also brought in lovely white Tiffany Chairs to really pull the decor together. Did I mention sequined tablecloths and mini envelopes for messages to the newlyweds. Bliss!

What I will remember the most from this wedding however, is the joy that I felt being invited as a guest – not just as a vendor. I was able to feel the immense love present in the room that their family and friends brought, and see their first dance. A stylist’s dream! Thanks Sophie and Leigh – you guys are the best!
