A Short Wedding Dress Love Story

I wore a short(ish) white dress when I got hitched. True story. This is not to say that I was or am against a full-length gown, I just happened to fall in love with a dress that showed off my well-turned ankle.

Actually, a few of my contemporaries have also worn short dresses to their weddings (are we kinda like a club now ladies?), and it really does suit that relaxed, pared-back style that modern weddings are now allowed to own. Got great legs? Show them! Got a good-lookin’ calf? Sell that sista! Petite? Just feel like dancing all night with your legs up in the air? Go for your life!

And they really don’t have to be 50s knock-offs! I know that there is a feeling out there that tea-length = Mad Men, however you can get mod, contemporary, couture, ALL styles are represented in the little white dress.

Here are my selections (a couple from my favourite stores ever for swooning and mooning over wedding dresses I will never get to wear – BHLDN I’m looking at you!) of short wedding gowns for you this chilly Melbourne week.

Mani - I love that you did a post about short wedding dresses 🙂 I know you already know this, but for any of your readers, you can find more examples of short dresses on my Pinterest page, where I’ve indulged my slight obsession….
