I thought I’d share a little Creative Type home project with you all today, since the colour is making me feel quite happy and generous. If I don’t say so myself!
I do this a lot – buy old items on ebay or Gumtree, and refurbish them into (hopefully) fresh and usable furniture. I’ve done chairs, sideboards, trunks and frames.
This time – it was the humble bedside table that has been repurposed into an small entertainment unit. A place for cords and all the ugly boxes that come with technology. You may have noticed that I quite like a print and a pop of colour – so I combined the two!
Using painters tape, a ruler and a pencil, I painstakingly measured up the lines and painted the black sections first. After that, I decided it needed colour to pull it together, which resulted in the bright mint/teal I found in a $3 sample pot at Bunnings – woop!
It now sits loud and proud in our lounge, and I’m happy I’ve been able to add another bespoke item to our already colourful home.
I’d love to see anything ya’ll have made!
